I struggle a lot with differentiating complex, compound, and simple sentences along with everything in-between. Can someone explain them please and show how each one fits in the examples in the picture?

OK so a compound sentence is basically a sentence that has (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) or a semicolon(;) in between it. Example: Jane has four dogs and two cats.
