How were social views influenced in the North by the Second Industrial Revolution?

The social factors are a bit complicated. Wealthy entrepreneurs wanted to increase profits. Workers wanted better wages and working conditions. The rich got rich and the poor stayed poor. Because of this, there was a lot of conflict between the two classes of individuals since the poor were missing out on higher wages and the rich were essentially robbing them. There was a fine line drawn between the two classes and to this day, most of them aren't very civil with each other.
