The disease is called the Macular degeneration.  This is a medical condition which may result in blurred or no vision in the center of the visual field.  The macula is in the center of the retina, the light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye. It is responsible for central vision. The degeneration of the macula occurs most often after age of 60 years and is termed as the macular degeneration.
