Out of the following choices,

A. decrease, increase. B. increase, increase. C. increase, decrease. D. decrease, decrease

The answer is B. Antidiuretic hormone is the major hormone that regulates the amount of water in the body which is based on electrolyte balance. The high-salt diet will increase the electrolyte concentration in the blood hence ADH hormone will increase to enable increased re-absorption of water in the kidneys. This is achieved by increasing aquaporin 2 channels in the distal tubule and collecting tubes of the nephrons that are responsible for water reabsorption. ADH acts in conjunction with aldosterone that regulates the concentration of sodium ions in the blood.
