The end result was the creation of the communist government. Lenin rose to power and the Soviets start purging citizens they considered "traitors". The people they purged were the kulaks (wealthy land owners), political dissidents, and suspected traitors. Their citizens lost many rights such as freedom of speech, press, freedom of religion and many other freedom.
