The hormones glucagon, glucocorticoid, insulin, amylin, GIP, GLP-1, cortisol epinephrine and growth hormone, all affect the blood glucose levels. However the main hormone that maintain the balance of blood sugar in the body are the insulin and the glucagon, which are secreted from the islet cells of the pancreas. They are both secreted in response to blood sugar levels, but in opposite fashion.
