n the early 1900s, John D. Rockefeller bought out other companies or drove them out of business. What was Rockefeller's motive?

John D. Rockefeller was trying to make a monopoly, in which he can control all of the resources in a particular area that the people needed, and essentially control the price, making it rise and fall to help increase profits.
