1 (1)/(4) m piece of rectangular paper into 2 pieces along its diagonal.What is the area of each of the pieces.

Length of rectangular paper = 2 m

width of rectangular paper =
1 (1)/(4) =
(5)/(4)

Area of rectangle = Length * width

= 2 *
(5)/(4)

=
(10)/(4)

Diagonal divides the rectangle into two pieces.

So we divide the area by 2

Area of each piece =
((10)/(4))/(2) =
(5)/(4)
