Intentional torts can arise in the healthcare field due to violation of certain laws which are planned to protect individuals. HIPAA, and various other state and federal laws about confidentiality when violated can lead to international torts. Another tort can arise when a health care provider fails to give sufficiently detailed information about the advantage and risks of different courses of action or medical care to a patient and by it procure the patient’s approval to a course of treatment.
