The answer is Posterior to parietal peritoneum also the retroperitoneal. Parietal peritoneum refers to the part that lines the abdominal and pelvic cavities. These cavities are know as the peritoneal cavity. Organs like most off the intestines, that are almost completely invested by peritoneum are connected to the body wall by a mesentery. The viscera organs on the other hand, such as kidney; are retroperitoneal which means they lie on the posterior abdominal wall and are covered by peritoneum only anteriorly.
