Adding heat to a substance increase the temperature and will take a solid to a liquid and then to a gas.
Removing heat will change a substance from a gas to a liquid and then to a solid

Changing a state from heat is when a solid, liquid, or gas, changes into a different state.
ex: water(liquid)
water frozen(solid)
water evaporating(gas)
