There are many cells in multi cellular organisms. During the development of a multi cellular organism, cells usually become differentiated, so that they can perform different functions. Differentiation means to become specialized in carrying out a particular function. A tissue is formed when a group of specialized cells of similar structure and functions come together. Tissues can be solid or liquid. An example of a solid tissue is muscle while blood is an example of a liquid tissue.
