Why did americans go to oregon in the early 1800s?

In the early 1800's, many Americans wanted to go to Oregon because the agrarians wanted the free and rich property, the good weather and the ample raindrops found in the river valleys. They also desired to carry their religious conviction to the Natural Americans.
