Imagine an undercover journalist came to observe the school \ you last year. What big story do you think they would write about? Think about a time where things were slightly out-of-the-ordinary and heightened emotions were involved. Try to write it as a newscast! Examples: Championship game, PI-Day, spirit week, vacation, end of the year, something that happened with a friend, math team...

just think of something that happened at your school, or even just a spirit week, and write about it as if it were a headline/news report.

here's an example of something that happened at my school in this format

breaking news!!!

for spirit week at (school), students were asked to use "anything but a backpack!" students came to school carrying their books in baby strollers, guitar cases, and even large red wagons! We will keep you updated on the absurd book-carriers students are using

or if it were something personal,

breaking news!!!

(school) student (name) has been caught sneaking out of class to go eat lunch with his boy friend, with whom he does not have the same lunch period! His teacher is completely clueless! We will keep you updated!
