Confucianism was born in China around 500 B.C. of the teachings of Confucius. His students produced a record that we know today as Las Analectas, which collect dialogues and phrases that reflect their guidelines. It spread to other nearby regions, known today as Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asian countries. After more than 2500 years his writings are still studied, although many times the current citizens of these countries do not recognize being Confucian or anything like that, especially the youngest. Even so, in recent years the CCP has resumed Confucianism in its discourse and in the creation of Confucian Institutes, as a spearhead in its softpower policy.
