The perimeter of a rectangle is P = 2w + 2l where w is the width of the rectangle and l is the length of the rectangle. Rearrange this formula to find the width of the rectangular prism.

Alright, lets get started.

The perimeter of a rectangle is given by :

P = 2w + 2l

We are asked to find the width , so

P = 2w + 2l

Subtracting 2l in both sides

P - 2l = 2w + 2l - 2l

P - 2l = 2w

Divide 2 in both sides

(P-2l)/(2)=(2w)/(2)

(P-2l)/(2) = w

w =(P)/(2) - l

This is the answer.

Hope it will help :)
