The answer is lithosphere….atmosphere. The lithosphere is the rigid, outermost shell of a terrestrial-type planet. On earth, it comprises of the upper mantle and crust. Magma from inside earth contain gases such as sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide that are ejected into the atmosphere during volcanic eruptions.
