Petar II Petrovic Njegos was a Prince-Bishop of Montenegro. He was a poet and philosopher who remarkably contributed his works in the Montenegrin literature. He was know for his epic poem entitled "Gorski vijenac" which is considered to be a masterpiece of Serb and South Slavic literature and a national epic of Montenegro, Serbia, and Yugoslavia. His works were influential in disparate groups, including Serbian, Montenegrin and South Slav nationalists, as well as monarchists and communists.
