HALE. Well, as if she didn’t know what she was going to do next. And kind of done up.

B. strange When describing how the woman looked, Mrs. Hale says that she seemed very confused, like she didn't know at all what was happening around her or what she was going to do. This is a strange way to behave, and Mrs. Hale was referencing that strangeness when she described her as acting "queer". Hope I help out ALOT.
