D. Builders were held legally accountable for their work.
Today we might speak of something like "criminal negligence" to describe a home builder whose work was done improperly in such a way that the house collapsed, or went up in flames because of improperly done wiring, etc. We might not pursue the death penalty for such an offense, but we would hold the builder legally responsible also and there would be legal consequences.
