After the costly victory of the British at the Battle of Bunker Hill during the American war of Independence. It forced the British to rethink their strategy because of the high casualty they experienced while the opposition lost a smaller number of casualties. Also the battle make General Howe to ask for hiring foreign soldiers to defeat the Americans.
