A major problem in teaching economics is dealing with what people know that isn’t so, or at the very least, is incomplete. Familiarity with the media conversation about economic conditions leads to a comfort level that, unfortunately, keeps many people from wondering about their beliefs or testing them against new knowledge and experiences.
