The atmosphere amid the Cenozoic time changed in a few stages from ice‐free shafts and warm conditions to ice‐covered posts and icy conditions. Since the 1950s, an assortment of data on ice volume and temperature changes has been developed prevalently based on estimations of the oxygen isotopic sythesis of shells of benthic foraminifera gathered from marine residue centers.
