I'm pretty sure it's because she sparked a non-violent protest because she refused to give up her bus seat to a white man.

The correct option is this: SHE REFUSED TO GIVE UP HER SEAT TO A WHITE PERSON IN A BUS.
Rosa Park was the first black woman who kicked start the modern African American civil right movement when she refused in December 1955 to give up her seat to a white man inside an Alabama city bus. She was arrested for civil disobedience and this led to a black community organized boycott which started on the day Park was convicted.
