Susan Baker wanted to label music with stricter parental guidelines and John Denver did not believe censorship was the right answer.
When Denver testified to oppose the Parents Music Resource Center (which Baker was a member of), he said that too often lyrics are misinterpreted and that he did not believe in censorship because usually it becomes counterproductive.
