Peter is the son of Kathe Kollwitz. He is a young soldier who died sacrificing his life in 1914 war. In her diary, she narrated her son’s death and the lavishness of having a war. She compared Peter to those of young men in other countries who are willing and joyfully go into the war. All have given their lives to the patriotism idea.
