Juan y Carla (tener) ideas buenas.

"tener" is more of past tense. To say Juan and Carla have good ideas it would be, "Juan y Carla tienen ideas buenas". Your sentence says, "Juan and Carla had good ideas" it makes sense, but in Spanish not so much. Tener is more of "to have" type word.
