number dimes - x
number nickels - 6x
altogether x+6x=7x
7x=91
x=91/7=13

so number dimes - 13
number nicles 6*13 - 78

x = dimes
6x = nickels

x + 6x = 91

7x = 91

x = 91/7 = 13

13 dimes and 78 nickels
