The number of blue jays on a tree is 5 times the number of red Robbins. Combined there are a total of 48 birds on the tree. How many blue jays are on the tree?

x + (5x) = 48 \\ 6x = 48 \\ x = (48)/(6) = 8
the number of Robbins is 8


8 * 5 = 40
the number of blue Jays is 40
