Usually, to be suspected of witchcraft, you would have to have things deemed unordinary happen to you, be wearing a specific thing, or have the 'devils mark' which was a birthmark that was shaped a certain way. Once suspected they take you to a quick court thing and then you are put through trials such as being chained and thrown in water. it was said if you floated you were a witch or something like that. There were many other trials and if you failed even one you were deemed a witch and hung.
