The cross-section is parallel to DCGH, so the cross-section of the cut has the same dimensions as DCGH (the nearest vertical face).
Since it is a rectangular prism, we have
HG=DC=EF=12"
DH=CG=BF=22"
Therefore the cross section is 22" x 12".
