In the year 1938, the first oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia by Americans.

The first commercial use of this oil reserve was being done by a company called standard oil. Standard oil then decided to create an Arabian subsidiaries to handle this oil reserve called ARAMCO which had around 10,000 employees and later on would be sold and fully owned by the Arabian Government.

The oil that flows from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia over decades employing a majority of working Saudis was first discovered by the Americans in 1938. The first striking of oil in commercial quantities at well No. 7 happened in Dammam, in what is now modern-day Dhahran.
