Florida is a long thin state surrounded by water and when the wind blows in from the gulf of Mexico and The Atlantic Ocean, they collide creating a lot of frequent thunderstorms.

It gets winds blowing from the oceans on both sides and they collide in the middle of Florida and rise to generate thunderstorms.
