x-y= -3 ---> x=-3+y
x+y=7
plug x

-3+2y=7
2y=10
y=5

plug y into any equation

x+5=7
x=2

2 and 5

The numbers are 5 and 2.

5 + 2 = 7

5 - 2 = -3
