The reason behind why E.Coli grows at a higher temperature in a complex medium than in a defined medium it is because E. coli doesn't need the matters in a complicated membrane to grow commonly. because the temperature receives better, reasons a denaturation of enzymes that might be in a biosynthesis pathway.
