When ethene gas & water vapour react, they produce ethanol. The reaction is given below:
C_{2} H_{4} (gas)+ H_{2}O(gas)⇔C_{2}H_{5}OH

The double arrow means the state of equilibrium is attained & the formation of products is going on the same rate as dissociation of product into the reactants.

The equation is overall balanced.
