Ice deposited by the atmosphere on a surface that is below freezing is called frost.
Frost can adopt many shapes, some of them are feathers, scales, needles or fans. These delicate shapes form over surfaces that are below the freezing point of water, and vapor in the air condenses and deposits directly onto the surface. The conditions for the formation of Frost are High Humidity and Low Temperatures. Frost can be very harmful to plants.
