Accession means that a position or proposal is accepted and adopted by another person. It is important to distinguish this from simple agreeing; it also means making it your own idea. For example in business settings accession implies accepting a project and wholeheartedly agreeing with it.This is also a technical term in international law; for example a state might "accede" to an already existing treaty.
