Genetic mutation usually occur as a result of incorporating the incorrect base pair into the nucleotide sequence. When an incorrect base is present at a certain location, it affect the RNA Molecule being transcribed and thus affect the set of nucleotide coding for a particular amino acid. These amino acid dictate specific function in the cell, and when an incorrect amino acid is incorporated, it usually affects its function.
