How did the U.S. become involved in World War I?

Germany offered a deal with Mexico to invade U.S. which angered U.S and went to war with Germany. As well as Germany sinking U.S cargo ships that were going to Great Britain.

Hiya!
The reason why the U.S became involved in WWI was due to the sinking of the British ship "Lusitania". It was sunk by a German u-boat, killing over 1000 people (some were American). This continued with German u-boats contining to sink American boats, Leading to the U.S becoming involved in WWI
