The Shawnee Chief Tecumseh believed that he was appointed by God. He believed that he would help his people stand as one unit and to fight for their land and not give it up. He did not want to see Western expansion continue. He wanted all Indian Nations to work together, not just his tribe, in order to accomplish this goal.
