Why did Adolf Hitler gain so much power in Germany’s government in the early 1930s?

In the early 1930s, the mood in Germany was grim. In January 1933 Hitler was appointed chancellor, the head of the German government, and many Germans believedthat they had found a savior for their nation. Adolf Hitler gains support by promising to overturn them and make life for them better.
