A report can be made from one or more tables or a query. The object(s) that a report is based on is known as the record source.
A record source is a table that contains data an organization has collected from a report. If the data is displayed, it will be bound in the query table if it can not be displayed it will be unbound to the table. By using a record source, we can determine where an organization gathers its data from.
