C. no school for blacks
In 1868, the Mississippi Constitution require the state to maintain public schools and ensure that the former slaves and their descendants would receive education equal to the education received by white students. The Mississippi’s schools violated the promises the state made and as a result, African American still do not receive education the same as the white students received.
