I believe the answer is: b. persistent depressive disorder.
Persistent depressive disorder would most likely be misinterpreted as normal depression due to the similarties in characteristics.
But persistent depressive disorder is also partly influenced by genetics that might cause a certain hormonal imbalance which contributed to the depression.
