The religious philosophy of deism, championed by Voltaire, was based on the existence of a deity that was the ruler of the universe. But, in contrast with the Catholic church, this ruler do not imply a revelation or any form of predestination or destiny, so deism rejected every form of religious norms or dogma, as they were not necessary for this context.
