Do you guys think that the story, Noah and the Ark was inspired by a real flood that was, maybe not as deadly.

To Catholics, the story of Noah and his ark, is a true story. To others, however, its something made up. It may, in fact, have been based off a real flood that occurred during this time, since it was written down.
