What was the main reason for the English Civil war of 1642?

The main reason was he parliamentarians demanded that some of the kings power be transfered to them, which angered the royalist. The king, Charles, believed he was ruler because of Divine Right and was only answerable to God. He did not believe in the power of the Parliament.
