The contributing factors are:
-The Erie Canal and railroads gave easy access to the resources of the interior (which allow a much faster product and resource allocation form one region to another)
- New European immigrants provided cheap labor for factories (which increase production efficiency)
- Northeastern cities had excellent locations for international trade
- Eastern cities had the nation's largest supply of capital which provided the money needed
