An unwanted teenage pregnancy or STI could damage our goal in the sense of pausing the time of the same. It doesn´t mean that our personal objectives are canceled, however it will take a little longer to carry them out. In the case of pregnancy or a tratable STI that could happen, however if the STI requieres constant observation and treatment I think that the time and effort involved in treating it should be focused. Everyone is at their own time and a break doesn´t mean that things will not happen.

Unwanted teenage pregnancies or STIs could get in the way of one's goals by creating roadblocks in the way of time and money. Caring for a child or seeking healthcare to support the treatment of STIs costs a significant amount of money.  Your schedule, also, in regard to finishing high school and going to college may be affected or prevented with an unwanted teenage pregnancy.
